MidReal Story

Chapter One Erwin Smith is a second-year student at the prestigious Rose University. He has a strong sense of justice and is on the fast track to becoming a detective. But on his way from practice one day, he comes across a janitor in the school hallway. Their eyes meet for the briefest moment, and Erwin is immediately drawn to him. He’s never felt like this before—and for a janitor no less! But Erwin can’t afford to be distracted by Levi Ackerman, not when there are secrets lurking in every corner, waiting to be uncovered. And the janitor? His true identity is far more sinister than anyone could have guessed… Erwin Smith sighed as he stepped out of his office. It was another late night at the office, and he was starting to feel his neck cramp up from sitting so long. He really needed to get home and get some sleep. The moment he stepped into the hallway, he froze. What the hell is that noise? He followed the sound and quickly found its source: the janitor. Levi Ackerman was bent over, cleaning the floor, a mop in one hand and a bucket in the other. He was wearing his usual janitor uniform, but his shirt was unbuttoned almost to his navel, revealing smooth, tanned skin and an impressive amount of muscles. Erwin felt an odd tightening in his gut at the sight of him and quickly looked away. What the hell was that about? He’d never had that reaction to a man before. That was for women. But there was something about Levi… something that made him hard to look away from. Erwin shook himself out of it. This wasn’t like him at all. He was a meticulous and ambitious detective with no time for distractions. And Levi Ackerman was just a janitor. A janitor with an interesting past. Erwin had been curious about him ever since he’d first started working here two months ago. He’d learned that Levi had been hired only two weeks before him and that he’d used to work as a private investigator until he’d been arrested for murder. An odd career choice change if Erwin had ever heard one. But there was no doubt that Levi had some skills. He was much more well-spoken and intelligent than Erwin would have expected from someone in his position, and he had a quiet intensity about him that Erwin found intriguing. And yet, he also seemed so cold and distant. Erwin had always gotten the feeling that Levi didn’t like him very much, which didn’t make any sense. They barely knew each other. But maybe Erwin had just been imagining things. After all, it wouldn’t be the first time someone didn’t like him for no good reason. He’d always been tall and a little bit awkward, and that had made him an easy target for bullies when he was growing up. But it wasn’t like Levi would have any reason to dislike him. Unless… maybe he’d heard a rumor about him. It was no secret that Erwin Smith came from money. His father was the head of one of the richest and most powerful families in the country, and Erwin’s life had been comfortable from birth. But it hadn’t always made him popular with his peers. Not that Erwin cared what anyone thought of him. He’d always followed his own path and done what he believed was right, regardless of what anyone else said or thought. And it had paid off. He’d graduated at the top of his class at the police academy two years ago, and now he was on the fast track to becoming a detective.
