Reborn Love: A Time-Travel Romance
Scenario: J and his wife X were graduated from a same university. When they were students of the university, J was an oddball in the mathematics department, not fond of studying but passionate about sports and an avid reader of various miscellaneous books. X, on the other hand, was a top student in the journalism department, two years younger than J. However, they did not know each other during their college years. It was only after they both graduated that they met and fell in love. At the age of forty, J experienced a once-in-a-lifetime event—a massive solar flare that caused a temporal disturbance, allowing him to be reborn back into his college days. This time around, J was determined to meet X earlier, fall in love with her sooner, and bring them together ahead of time, making up for the regrets of their past life.

As a person who had defied the stereotype of a studious scholar, my presence in the mathematics department of this university could be considered as a bit unusual.
I wasn't here to learn for the sake of learning.
I was here because I loved sports!
In basketball and track and field, I was an absolute ace.
In fact, I would not be exaggerating at all if I said that I was the best among all freshmen in China.
In the past, when I was at the peak of my game, I was even able to keep up with some of the international level players.
That was where my passion lay.
But why was I in the mathematics department?
That was because I was good at it.
In the beginning, it was just for fun.
I wanted to challenge myself.
Can I really get into the top ten in the college entrance examination if I only spent twenty days studying?
Is it really possible to get full marks in mathematics?
It turned out that I could!
It was also during that time when I realized that mathematics was not as difficult as it seemed.
So, I decided to choose mathematics as my major.
But this doesn’t mean that I like it.
For me, the real thing that I loved was something else entirely!
It was not the academic pursuit of knowledge.
It wasn’t even about achieving the best grades.
What really got me going were the challenges in sports!
On top of that… there were so many other things that were also very interesting!
So, I took up reading!
I didn’t know how many books that I had read during my high school years.
But I did have quite a lot of them!
Some were about sports.
Some were novels.
Some were literary works and poems.
Some were historical books.
There were even some on science.
As such, after reading so many different books, there were quite a lot of things that I had learned!
Just like today!
I came to the library to read books every day when I had nothing else to do.
However, my current book was really not fun at all!
I closed my eyes and sighed helplessly.
Although mathematics wasn’t very interesting to me, there were still quite a lot of things that I didn’t know about!
This book before me was called “The Study of Prime Numbers” and was about number theory.
It was the first time that I had read something like this.
As such, it took me quite a long time to read just one page!
However, this is also one of the reasons why I had chosen this book!
I needed challenges!
Because my friends always said that I am a weirdo!
A jock who reads books!
A bookworm who is good at sports!
To be honest, I’m not really that good at studying. But when it comes to sports…
Wait… What time is it now?
Standing up in shock, I looked at my watch and realized that two hours had passed since I came here.
I had to go now!
This book is so annoying…
What day is today?
I couldn’t help but feel anxious as I walked out of the library.
After thinking for a while, I remembered.
I was in college.
I had recently turned twenty years old.
It was the day before the final exam.
In the next two weeks, I would be facing all kinds of exams!
In fact, it was already the second year since the college entrance examination.
I knew very well that to be able to study in this university was already my limit.
In fact, this was what my parents had hoped for.
But for me…
I just wanted to have fun while studying.
It wasn’t that important to me.
What was important to me was sports!
I had been playing basketball since I was very young.
In middle school, the school team that I led won numerous awards in various competitions.
And in high school, as the captain of the basketball team, my team won the first place in the city youth group basketball league in the second year.
To be honest, if I hadn’t decided to go to college earlier, my current strength would be enough for me to be selected into the national team.
That was how good I was!
I am very ambitious when it comes to sports!
Although it is difficult for an athlete in China to become famous and successful due to various reasons, this does not mean that it is impossible!
What’s more, as long as you are willing to work hard and persevere with your goal—and if you are willing to go abroad—then it is still possible to fulfill your dream of becoming a professional athlete or coach!
Back when I was in college, my ambition was already clear—I wanted to become a professional athlete or coach!
It was also because of this ambition that I became one of the top athletes in our college track team!
Except for marathons and long-distance running events where my performance wasn’t too good, my results in other events were top-notch!
Of course, this also includes sprints and hurdles.
However, my best events are high jump and pole vault.
Most importantly, my coach is Professor Z Brown who is also an associate professor in our department.
After learning of my track and field results during the freshman military training period, Professor Brown had taken a fancy to me.
Since then, he had trained me personally and became my mentor.
In my opinion, Professor Brown is a very successful person.
He is a very professional teacher and an excellent athlete too.
He has even won a world championship before!
It was just that he had retired after winning the championship and returned to China to teach and coach us at the university where he used to study too.
In terms of coaching track and field events such as high jump and pole vault here in our university, Professor Brown is definitely the best coach around!
And after Coach Brown agreed to take me on as his disciple, my performance improved by leaps and bounds!
Of course, this was not only because of his guidance but also because of my hard work too!
Even though I had trained hard every day, I still managed to get decent grades throughout the four years of college.
Thus, it was not difficult for me to find a satisfactory job after graduation according to my grades and track record during my time at the university.
It was also because of my various achievements during college—both academically and athletically—that many companies and schools took a fancy to me.
However, no matter how tempted those offers were—or even if they included high salaries—I still decided to go back to our university for further studies first before making other decisions regarding my future career path.
During the two years when I was studying for my master’s degree at the university where I graduated from, I met X who would eventually become my wife as well as a tragedy that would change everything!
X Johnson was one of the students who graduated from our university two years after me.
She was one of the top students in the journalism department and was two years younger than me.
Before her graduation from our university, X had already been accepted by a national television network where she would work for their sports department as a sports journalist after graduation.
As such, she has a promising future ahead of her, especially since she loved sports just like me!
We did not know each other during our college days.
Even though we were both from the same university and we both love sports, I had never heard of her name nor had I seen her before.

Although she is a girl, X is very active in sports too!
She often exercises in the gym and even plays basketball.
However, she is not as skilled in sports as me.
But it doesn’t matter!
What matters is that she is willing to exercise and loves sports!
I can teach her some skills if she needs!
X is also very smart and has a sharp mouth.
She is a typical example of beauty with brains!
In addition, X loves to read books just like me!
In short, X is my ideal girlfriend!
I fell in love with her at first sight!
At the beginning, X was very shy and conservative.
But after I had pursued her for some time, she finally agreed to be my girlfriend and to be together with me!
As my girlfriend, X was very gentle and understanding.
She was also very considerate and took good care of me.
We often went out on dates together too!
I was also able to take her to watch basketball games live because she loved sports.
We would also watch movies or go for dinner together often!
I was very happy with her around!
