I don't remember sitting down at the table.
If someone asked me what happened when I sat down at the table, my answer would be that I was suddenly there, somehow, and that Gojo Satoru was sitting across from me.
The restaurant is a high-end sushi place in Shibuya.
The wait staff are all on their best behavior, but none of it means anything to me.
My head is blank.
The only thing I can hear is the clinking of dishes and the distant sounds of other patrons.
The whole restaurant is quiet as death.
The only sound is the loud thud of my heart in my ears.
What am I doing here?
I can't think of a single reason why I am sitting here with him.
I can't even remember what I'm supposed to be doing right now.
"Gojo-sensei?"I force the words out of my throat and into the air between us.
There's a strange tension in the air, not just because we were outside fighting cursed spirits a few moments ago.
The feeling is more like a warning to tread carefully around him, or else.
"Sorry about that.I spaced out for a minute." He shrugs, then reaches under the table to pull out a large bottle of sake.
"I brought you some food," he says.
"Get ready to eat until you're stuffed."
What does he mean by that?
Why am I here with Gojo-sensei?
My head still feels empty when I try to think back on what happened before this.
Somehow, it all feels very far away and unimportant now.
