My team and I are on an expedition to explore its vast, uncharted lands, where we hope to find and secure resources necessary for the continued survival and development of mankind.

Sophia Williams led her team down the mountain at a fast pace.
It had been hours since they discovered a new deposit of resource, but she still couldn’t believe their luck.

As far as they knew, it was a rare substance that only existed on this side of NeoTerra.
They had already found several other deposits on the other side of the planet, but those deposits were much smaller and not nearly as valuable.

Sophia looked around and saw that everyone was smiling and taking pictures of each other.

Sophia nodded and then she put the stone in her pocket.
She wanted to show it to Alex later and get his opinion on it.
He was an expert on minerals, so he would know what it was right away.
I smiled as I read Alex’s message and then I put my phone away.
After nearly two years of silence, it was good to hear from him again.
I had been worried about him for a while, but now that I knew he was okay, I felt much better.
And I couldn’t wait to see him in person!
Alex was my best friend, and we had known each other for as long as I could remember.
We had grown up together on Earth, and even though we were both only children, we had always been very close.
Our parents were all scientists, so they often had to go away for weeks or even months at a time.

But no matter what happened, we always stuck together and helped each other out.
And that was how we became such good friends.
As we got older, our friendship changed a little bit.
We didn’t play together as much anymore, and we didn’t see each other as often, but we were still very close.
And even though we both had other friends, we always knew that we could count on each other for anything.
That was why it was so hard for me when he left Earth to work on another planet.
I missed him so much that it hurt, and I didn’t know what to do without him!

They had heard so much about him that they were all very excited to meet him in person!
As I walked through the spaceport, I couldn’t help but think about all the amazing memories that I had of Alex.
We had been through so much together over the years that it was hard to believe that he wasn’t here with me right now.
