Kenny's secret, Joanna's true feelings, and Yuki's deep knowledge of CapCut's wrongdoings start causing problems.
I joined CapCut last year, immediately after my graduation.
CapCut was a rising star in the AI industry, and its technology was said to be years ahead of its competitors.
I was flattered when they offered me a position as a data analyst, considering that I had never even interned at a tech company before.
My performance during the interview was impeccable, they said, and they were excited to have me on board.
I was excited, too.
I was ready to learn new things every day, and I couldn’t think of a better place to start my career in the tech industry than CapCut.
It was at CapCut that I met Kenny, Joanna, and Yuki.
Kenny was an AI engineer.
He was always working on some kind of secret project and he often stayed late at the office.
But no matter how busy he was, he always found the time to hang out with us after work or on the weekends.
He was a fun guy to be around.
He had a great sense of humor and he was always happy to help us out whenever we needed it.
He also had a big secret that he was hiding from everyone at CapCut.
Joanna was the happiest person I had ever met.
She grew up in Happy Valley, which was a small town known for its beautiful views, friendly people, and happy residents.
When she wasn’t working, she would often regale us with stories from her hometown, such as how all the children there were required to take happiness classes in school or how there was a “Happiness Parade” every weekend where residents would gather together to watch floats of smiling cartoon characters go by.
Although not everyone in Happy Valley was happy all the time, Joanna told us, it was still one of the most cheerful places in the world thanks to their government’s strict policies that ensured all residents were taken care of and happy with their lives.
Yuki, meanwhile, had been an employee at CapCut for three years before I joined.
She knew everything about everyone at the office, including all of our deep, dark secrets.
She was also Kenny’s best friend, and they were practically inseparable.
Yuki was always the first person in the office in the morning and the last to leave in the evening, and her dedication had played a huge role in CapCut’s success during its early days.
She also had a great eye for detail and was the most observant out of all of us.

When Joanna first introduced us to her parents over a video call, they were both smiling so widely that their faces looked like they might split open at any moment.
Joanna’s dad was a chef and her mom was a kindergarten teacher.
Apparently, they were both very well-known and liked within their community.
“Hi, sweetie,” Joanna’s mom said.
“Are you behaving yourself at work?”
“Yes,” Joanna replied, beaming.
“I’m working very hard!”
Her dad added, “That’s great! We’re so proud of you!”
And then they waved goodbye with their ever-present smiles and sent us what they called “happy-grams” – essentially little heart emojis accompanied by various positive messages such as “Keep smiling!” or “We love you!”
Kenny asked Joanna if there were any penalties for not being happy in Happy Valley.
She laughed when she heard the question and replied, “Of course not!Why would anyone want to penalize someone for being unhappy?”
Kenny made a face and was about to ask more questions when Yuki suddenly appeared behind him and whispered something in his ear that made him stop talking immediately.
Yuki greeted Joanna’s parents before adding, “I’m sorry to interrupt your call like this, but we have a meeting in five minutes.”
“Right, sorry!”
Joanna’s smile grew even brighter as she turned back to the screen and waved goodbye to her parents, who were still smiling as they offered her their goodbyes as well.
“Thanks for talking with us, Joanna,” her mom said.
“You know we love hearing from you.”
“Bye, sweetheart,” her dad added, blowing a kiss at the camera before signing off.
After the video call ended, Joanna turned to us with tears in her eyes and thanked us for being such good friends to her, promising that she would always be there for us no matter what happened in the future and that we could rely on her no matter what.
She had a heart of gold, I thought, and she was such a sweet person who truly deserved nothing but the best things in life.
Joanna was always happy, or so we thought.
No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t catch Joanna being unhappy or even less than 100% cheerful on any given day.
I had observed her closely during our coffee breaks or lunch times, waiting for a chink in that seemingly perfect armor of hers, but there was nothing out of place about her happiness, which was as natural as breathing air itself when it came down to it.
She was always smiling, always laughing, and always there, ready to cheer us up whenever we were feeling down or worried about something.
But there were times when Joanna fell silent and stared at nothing for a long period of time, even though she would immediately snap out of it once anyone called her name or tried to get her attention.
I first noticed this strange behavior of hers a few months after I had joined the company, when Joanna, Yuki, Kenny, and I went up to the terrace of the building to admire the view of the mountains of Silicon Valley from above, which was quite a spectacular sight to behold indeed when you thought about it.
We all stood there, looking at the mountains in the distance, which loomed like a fortress of some kind, vast and impenetrable, with thick layers of fog rising from the ground to surround them like tendrils before they slowly dissipated into nothingness, leaving only the tall peaks of the mountains themselves visible to us.
It was a beautiful sight to see, but Joanna, who was standing next to me, looked at the mountains with an expression of sadness etched on her face, as if she were remembering something from a long time ago that she would rather forget about and leave behind where it belonged—in the past—and yet she simply couldn’t for some reason, no matter how hard she tried.
I immediately took off my scarf—I had worn it to work because it was quite cold in the office when the air conditioning was turned up too high—and wrapped it around Joanna’s neck before she realized what I was doing and tried to stop me.
“You must be cold,” I said with a kind smile, “so here, take my scarf. It’s not much, but I hope it helps you stay warm.”
I helped her adjust the scarf properly around her neck before taking a step back and looking at her with a smile.
“There,” I said.
“You look lovely. You should wear it more often.”
“Th-thank you,” Joanna stuttered as she stared at me with wide eyes.
Her voice was trembling as she thanked me, and for a moment there, I thought she was about to burst into tears again or break down in front of us.
But then she took a deep breath to steady herself and smiled at me with that bright smile of hers.
“Thanks, Louise,” she said.
“I’ll remember that.”
I never did ask Joanna why she had been staring at the mountains with such a sad expression on her face, though.
I didn’t want to invade her privacy or make her feel uncomfortable by asking her about something so private and personal like that.
Joanna was my friend, after all, and if she wanted to talk about it with me or any of us—if she needed someone to talk to—then she would surely do so without any prompting from us, right?
No matter how much time passed, though, Joanna never did bring up the topic of the mountains on her own.

joanna has a husband
It had been a strange time for all of us back then.
Kenny had been working on his secret project like crazy and he barely had time for any of us.
But he finally agreed to have dinner with us when Joanna organized a small gathering to bring all of us together.
Joanna was her usual self that night—bright and cheerful as always—and she even invited Yuki to come along as well, which was nice of her since Yuki had been just as busy as Kenny lately.
“You guys work too hard,” Joanna said with a bright smile as she looked at Kenny and Yuki who were sitting across from each other at the table, wrapped up in their own little world.
“It’s not good for your health to work so hard all the time. You need to relax and have a little fun once in a while.”
“Yeah,” Kenny said with an awkward laugh.
He had been so busy with his secret project that he sometimes forgot to eat or sleep.
It was only after I told him off for it—after I scolded him for being so careless with his health—that he finally decided to take better care of himself and get some rest and eat proper meals like he should.
He had been working on his project for months without any success of finding a solution to the problem that had been plaguing him for weeks now.
That was why he was so stressed out all the time and looked so tired lately.
“I know what you mean,” he said as he rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly.
“You need to take care of yourself, too, you know?”
Kenny had started to feel more like my older brother than my friend ever since he had started working on his secret project, which had made me feel a little neglected and unappreciated by him over the past few months.
But I didn’t mind it, really, because I liked Kenny for being just the way he was, and I liked our group for being just the way it was—happy and carefree and filled with the excitement and anticipation of youth and friendship, love and happiness, good times and great memories, and all those special moments that we had shared together over the years that we had known each other.
I liked Kenny for being just the way he was, but I also liked him for being just the way he wasn’t—secretive and mysterious and enigmatic, with hidden depths that not many people—other than me—knew about or could ever hope to understand or appreciate, like his secret project that he had been working on for so long now that no one—other than me—knew anything about it, either.
I liked Kenny for being just the way he was—for being my friend—but I also liked him for other reasons as well—for being a man—and for being someone who made my heart flutter and made me feel all warm and tingly inside whenever he looked at me with his big brown eyes or smiled at me with his boyish smile or did all those little things for me that he did because he liked me and wanted to be close to me, too.
I liked Kenny for being my friend, but I also liked him for being more than just my friend.

kenny is an alien
Joanna was singing again, her smiling eyes sparkling in the bright morning sun as she dusted off a chair in the conference room while humming a cheery tune.
This was one of Joanna’s habits—she would break into song whenever she was happy or excited or feeling good about herself or the world or her life, which was pretty much all the time.
“Yuki is an alien,” Joanna sang as she worked.
“And so are you.
And so am I.”
That’s not what I said,” Yuki said.
“What did you say?”
Yuki was sitting at the conference table with her back to the window, staring at her phone with her hands folded neatly in her lap.
She had short black hair that was parted down the middle, and big piercing black eyes that were slanted up at the corners.
She was small and slim, with small hands and feet, but she was quick and agile and moved with grace and precision, like a ninja.
And she was also very beautiful, like a geisha.
“I said that CapCut is just a front,” Yuki said.
“A front for what?”
“For something else.
For something much bigger and much more important than we are.”
“What could be more important than we are?”
Joanna said, her eyes growing wide with surprise and astonishment.
“What could be more important than CapCut?”
“Yuki is right,” I said, joining them in the conference room.
“CapCut is merely a front.”
“Whoa, when did you get here?”
Joanna said, spinning around to face me, her long black hair flying out behind her.
“You kind of snuck up on us there, Louise.
You didn’t sneak up on us, did you?”
“Of course not,” I said.
I sat down at the conference table next to Yuki and across from Joanna and waited for Kenny to come in from his office in a hurry because he had to get back to work on his secret project and didn’t have time to go out to lunch.
“Well, what do you mean by that?”
“What do you mean that CapCut is merely a front?”
Joanna said, her eyes growing wide with astonishment.
“This place that we work at is just a front for something much more important than we are?”
“That’s what it looks like to me,” Yuki said.
“But what could be more important than we are?”
Joanna said, putting her hand on her hip.
“And what could CapCut be a front for?”
“Those are good questions,” I said.
I raised my hand to my mouth and smiled.
“But unfortunately, I don’t have the answers to them.
Aren’t you the slightest bit curious about them, Kenny?
Aren’t you the least bit curious about the company that you work for and the people who you work with?
Don’t you wonder about the people who work for you, Mr.
Luo, and the strange experiments that he does in his lab that have been rumored to make people go bald and have nervous breakdowns, and all sorts of other terrible things, too?
Why don’t you tell us what really goes on here at CapCut, Kenny?”
“I would if I knew,” Kenny said, coming in from his office in a hurry.

“But unfortunately, I don’t know.”
“You mean you really don’t know or you just don’t know what you would say if you did know?”
“Well, if you really want to know,” Yuki said.
“If you really want to know the truth, then here it is.”
She took a deep breath and looked at all of us with her piercing gaze.
“The reason why people go bald and have nervous breakdowns here at CapCut is because of the experiments that Mr.
Luo does in his lab.
He calls it the Luo Plan, but it’s really just one big experiment.”
“What kind of experiment?”
Joanna said, her voice quivering as she asked the question.
“It’s not something good, is it?
It can’t be something good if it makes people go bald and have nervous breakdowns.”
“No, it’s not something good,” Yuki said.
“I’m sorry to tell you this, but Mr.
Luo uses the employees of CapCut as guinea pigs in his lab.
He uses them to test his experiments, to see if they work.
But sometimes they don’t.
Sometimes they fail badly and sometimes they cause terrible things to happen to the employees in his lab, like baldness, like nervous breakdowns, like hair loss, like other terrible things, too.”
“I don’t believe it,” Joanna said.
“That can’t be true, can it?
That Mr.
Luo does those things to his employees, to us?
Why would he do such a thing?
Why would he want to make people go bald?
Why would he want to hurt people like that?”
“Because he’s experimenting on them,” I said.
“He’s using them as test subjects.
That’s what scientists do, right?
They use guinea pigs to test their experiments.
They use rats, too.
Well, I guess they use people, too.
People like us who work here at CapCut.”
“And what exactly is he experimenting on them about?”
Joanna said, her voice quivering.
What exactly does he do to them in his lab?
It can’t be something good if it makes them go bald.
“It’s not something good,” Yuki said.
“It’s just an experiment to see if what he thinks is true.
And what he thinks is true is that human consciousness can be merged with AI, with artificial intelligence.”
“What does that mean, exactly?”
Joanna said, her voice trembling.
What does human consciousness have to do with AI?
And what would happen if it could be merged with AI?”
“The possibilities are endless,” Yuki said.
“But unfortunately, they also come with a price.
A very high price.
A price that some people are willing to pay, but most people aren’t.
Most people don’t want to pay that price if they don’t have to.
Most people don’t want to die just so they can merge their consciousness with AI so that they can live forever.
Most people don’t want to suffer either just so they can be alive inside a computer for all eternity.
"Secrets Unveiled: CapCut's Betrayal"
kenny tell us about his darkest secret and we were so angry and scared
“Mr.
Luo doesn’t care about that,” Yuki said.
“He doesn’t care if people die or suffer as long as he can prove what he thinks is true.
He doesn’t care if people go bald or lose their minds as long as he can make his experiments work the way he wants them to work.
He doesn’t care if people have to die for him to be right.
He doesn’t care about anyone but himself.”
I didn’t know what to say.
I was scared out of my mind.
I was scared for myself and I was scared for my friends.
I was scared for all of us because we worked at CapCut and we knew too much about the experiments that went on there.
We knew about the experiments that Mr.
Luo did in his lab.
We knew what happened to the people who worked there when his experiments failed.
And we knew what happened to the people who worked there when his experiments succeeded.
The project Kenny was working on was called Cerebral Cortex 2.0.It was the next generation of the company’s AI software that would allow it to learn human behavior and perform tasks with minimal input from its human operators.
It required massive amounts of data to be collected from thousands of workers who were wired up to CapCut’s servers and forced to perform tasks that were needed to train the software to perform its tasks.
The workers were forced to sit at their computers for hours on end performing tasks that would have been impossible for any human being to do in real life.
The physical strain on their bodies was enormous and as a result many of them suffered from severe injuries that left them unable to work for days or even weeks at a time.
But the management of CapCut didn’t care about that.
They didn’t care if their workers were injured or even killed while working on the project.
The only thing they cared about was the success of the project so that they could make more money for themselves.
Kenny didn’t agree with that.
He didn’t agree with the way the management of CapCut treated its employees like slaves.
And he didn’t agree with the way the company treated its employees like guinea pigs.
So he decided to make a few modifications to the AI software he was in charge of so that it could tell the difference between real data and simulated data, which would allow it to learn faster without having to be fed data from humans.
By doing this, he was able to reduce the physical strain on the workers by 70% while still allowing the AI to learn at a much faster rate than before.
This was a major breakthrough for the company and it made Kenny very popular with the management who were impressed with the results he had achieved.
But it also made him very unpopular with his coworkers who were angry that he had made their lives even worse than they already were by making them work even longer hours than they had to before.
And it also put him in great danger because if the founder of CapCut, Mr.
Luo, ever found out that he had made these modifications to the AI software then he would be in big trouble.
Everybody knew that Mr.
Luo was not the kind of person who would be happy to find out that he had been betrayed by one of his own employees.
Everybody knew that he was a very dangerous man who would do anything to get what he wanted, even if it meant hurting other people in the process .
Kenny was very scared too, but he believed that what he was doing was for the good of the company and for the good of his friends who worked there too.
He believed that what he was doing was the right thing to do because it would help all of them to survive.
It would help all of them to escape from CapCut before it was too late.
But he also knew that it was only a matter of time before he got caught by Mr.
Luo who would not be happy to find out that he had been betrayed by one of his own employees.
And when he did get caught then he would have to pay the price for what he had done.
He would have to pay the price for what he had done because he had betrayed his boss.
And he would have to pay the price for what he had done because he had betrayed his friends.
"Secrets Unveiled: CapCut's Betrayal"
I couldn’t believe my ears when I heard this.
It was so hard to believe that Kenny was capable of doing something like this without getting caught.
It was so hard to believe that he was able to change the AI software without being detected by the security system which was supposed to be able to detect any unauthorized changes made to it.
It was so hard to believe that he was able to make these modifications without anyone else knowing about it except for me.
But at the same time, it wasn’t hard for me to believe that what Yuki was telling me was true because I knew that Kenny was a very smart person who could do anything he put his mind to .
And I also knew that he wouldn’t have done anything like this if he didn’t believe that it was the right thing to do in order to help his friends who worked at CapCut as well as himself get out of there before it was too late.
I couldn’t believe how brave he was for doing this even though he knew that he would have to pay the price for what he had done if he ever got caught by Mr.
I couldn’t believe how selfless he was for doing this because he wanted to help his friends who worked at CapCut as well as himself get out of there before it was too late.
I couldn’t believe how proud I was of him for doing this because I knew that he wouldn’t have done anything like this if he didn’t think it was the right thing to do in order to help his friends who worked at CapCut as well as himself get out of there before it was too late.
But at the same time, I couldn’t help but worry about what would happen to him if he ever got caught by Mr.
I couldn’t help but worry about what would happen to him if Mr.
Luo ever found out about what he had done.
I couldn’t help but worry about what would happen to him if Mr.
Luo decided to take revenge on him for what he had done.
And most of all, I couldn’t help but worry about what would happen to him if Mr.
Luo decided to kill him for what he had done.
Because everybody knew that Mr.
Luo was not the kind of person who would let anyone get away with betraying him.
Everybody knew that Mr.
Luo was not the kind of person who would forgive anyone who had ever done anything to hurt him, no matter how small or big it may have been.
And everybody knew that Mr.
Luo was not the kind of person who would think twice about killing anyone who had ever done anything to hurt him, no matter who they were or where they came from.
So Yuki told me that I needed to keep my mouth shut and not say anything about what Kenny had done or else we would all be in trouble if Mr.
Luo found out about it .
Yuki told me that I needed to keep my mouth shut and not say anything about what Kenny had done because she didn’t want any of us to get hurt or worse if Mr.
the real boss is kenny; yuki is a spy from the government to investigate this comapny
Yuki told me that I needed to keep my mouth shut and not say anything about what Kenny had done because she didn’t want any of us to get hurt or worse if Mr.
Luo found out about it .
She told me that I needed to keep my mouth shut even though I felt guilty about keeping Kenny’s secret from her because she said that she didn’t want any of us to be in danger even though she said that she already knew about what Kenny had done .
She told me that she needed me to keep my mouth shut even though I felt guilty about keeping Kenny’s secret from her because she said that she didn’t want any of us to be in danger even though she said that she already knew about what Kenny had done .
She told me that she needed me to keep my mouth shut even though I felt guilty about keeping Kenny’s secret from her because she said that she didn’t want any of us to be in danger even though she said that she already knew about what Kenny had done .
She told me that she needed me to keep my mouth shut even though I felt guilty about keeping Kenny’s secret from her because she said that she didn’t want any of us to be in danger even though she said that she already knew about what Kenny had done .
So I told Yuki that I wouldn’t say anything about what Kenny had done even though I still felt guilty about keeping his secret from her.
So I told Yuki that I wouldn’t say anything about what Kenny had done even though I still felt guilty about keeping his secret from her.
So I told Yuki that I wouldn’t say anything about what Kenny had done even though I still felt guilty about keeping his secret from her.
And then Yuki told me that I needed to keep my mouth shut even more than ever and never let anyone know about what I was doing with him.
And then Yuki told me that I needed to keep my mouth shut even more than ever and never let anyone know about what I was doing with him.
And then Yuki told me that I needed to keep my mouth shut even more than ever and never let anyone know about what I was doing with him.
And then Yuki told me that I needed to keep my mouth shut even more than ever and never let anyone know about what I was doing with him.
And then Yuki told me with a serious look on her face, “Kenny is doing this for all of us, including you.
You and the rest of the employees are at risk of getting hurt or worse by working here just like he is.
So please don’t say anything about this.
If you do, we will all be in trouble.”
And then Yuki told me with a serious look on her face, “Kenny is doing this for all of us, including you.
You and the rest of the employees are at risk of getting hurt or worse by working here just like he is.
So please don’t say anything about this.
If you do, we will all be in trouble.”
At first, I didn’t get why Yuki said this.
I was like, “What do you mean?”
But then it hit me like a lightbulb going off in my head.
It hit me like a ton of bricks going off in my chest.
It hit me like a tidal wave going off in the ocean.
That’s when I realized how much danger we were all in just by working at CapCut.
That’s when I realized how much danger we were all in just by being near Mr.
