Мужчина и женщина спорят в постели
“Jane, I love you and I enjoy having you as my wife, but kids?I don’t think so, baby.”
My fiery redhead of a wife pouted.
I chuckled at her expression and pulled her closer to me, wrapping my arms around her as we lay in bed.
“John, we’ve been married for three years now.
It’s time to have kids,” she said in her sweet voice.
“Jane,” I sighed, rubbing my temples.
This was the millionth time we’d had this conversation.
“I don’t want kids.
And you know how I feel about them,” I said.
Jane pulled away from me and placed her palms on my chest, looking into my eyes.
I looked into hers and saw that they were filled with worry, pain, and a hint of sadness.
That sight made my heart clench.
I loved this woman more than anything in the world and seeing her so upset hit me right where it hurt the most.
I was a big guy, standing at six feet five inches, with a muscular build and strong jawline to match.
Jane, on the other hand, was very petite and stood at five feet two inches.
She had silky smooth long red hair that cascaded down her shoulders in waves.
Her eyes were as blue as the ocean and her face was heart-shaped.
She had the kind of beauty that would make any man’s heart skip a beat when they saw her.
But I was lucky enough to have her all to myself.
“Baby, I don’t want kids because I think that having them would ruin our lives and careers,” I said truthfully.
“But John, we can have both!”
she reasoned.
“We can have happy marriages and successful careers!
Kids are not going to ruin our lives!”
“Yes, they will,” I argued.
“These days, children are very demanding!
They rob their parents of their freedom and free time!
How are we supposed to achieve our dreams and enjoy our success if we’re busy taking care of them?”
“John!” Jane’s eyes flashed with anger as she glared at me.
She got up from the bed and crossed her arms over her chest as she looked down at me with an angry expression on her face.
“You’re being ridiculous!”
I gave her a shrug.
“You can say whatever you want, but I’m not going to change my mind,” I said.
Jane’s eyes shone with tears and she bit her bottom lip as she tried to keep herself from crying.
“Then what do you want me to do?”
“I want you to focus on your career and your job.
You can get a promotion or something.
Or if you want kids that badly, then go find someone else to give them to you,” I said.
My voice was cold and indifferent and my words hit Jane like a slap in the face.
“I can’t believe you would say such things to me, John!”
Jane picked up the pillow beside her and hit me in the head with it.
“What’s wrong with you?
Are you crazy?”
I grabbed the pillow and threw it away before getting up from the bed, my eyes dark and filled with anger.
“What’s wrong with me?
I’m not the one who is being unreasonable here!
If you want kids that badly, then go get yourself pregnant instead of trying to force me into doing something I don’t want to do!”
