I, Peter Griffin, have just announced my candidacy for mayor of Quahog, shocking my wife, Lois, and everyone else in The Drunken Clam.
The idea came to me while I was watching the news and listening to Mayor Adam West talk about his plans for the upcoming election.
I decided that I would be an even better mayor than him, so I stood up in front of the television and declared my intention to run against him.
Lois thought I was joking at first, but I quickly made it clear that I was serious about running for office.
I don't have any experience or qualifications that would make me a good candidate for mayor, but that hasn't stopped me before.
Now I'm about to tell Joe, Cleveland, and Quagmire about my decision to run for mayor.
“Lois, you can’t be serious about this,” Joe said, “Peter running for mayor?He’s not qualified in any way.”
“I know,” Lois said, “but he seemed so sure of himself, I had no choice but to support him, no matter how stupid I thought it was.”
“He must be joking,” Cleveland said.
“What are you saying?” I asked.“You don’t think I have what it takes to be the mayor of Quahog?”
“Yeah, Peter,” Quagmire said, “what makes you think you’re good enough to be mayor?”
“I was watching the news,” I said, “and Mayor Adam West said he was going to run for a second term as mayor.And then it hit me.I should be the one running for mayor.I mean, Quahog is in desperate need of change.”
“Oh my god,” Lois said, “he’s serious.”
“Yeah,” Joe said.
“Peter,” Lois said, “you can’t be serious.You’re not actually running for mayor, right?”
“I already told you,” I said with a smile, “I’m running for mayor.”
“Okay,” Lois said with a sigh, “if you’re gonna do this, then let’s do it right.” The next day, after talking to my friends and family about my decision to run for mayor, we all went to the Drunken Clam when Joe’s shift ended.I stood up on top of the bar and said in a loud voice, “Attention everyone!My name is Peter Griffin and as of yesterday, I am officially running for mayor of Quahog!”
After the people inside the bar heard this, they all started laughing.
“Oh wait,” I said, “you think this is funny?You think it’s funny that I’m gonna be the mayor of this town?”
There were more laughs from the people in the bar.
