Whispers of Elven Realms

Scenario: I received a text from an otherworldly elf
Create my version of this story
I received a text from an otherworldly elf
I was in the middle of a meeting with my boss when I got the text from an elf.
It was a weird thing to say, but it was even weirder that I believed it.
The message came from an unknown number, and all it said was "Help me."
I’d been getting a lot of spam texts lately, so I ignored it at first.
But then I felt this pull in my chest, like something calling me toward it.
I excused myself from the meeting and went into the hallway to call the number back.
It went straight to voicemail, so I left a message.
"Hello? This is Emily Carter. You just texted me asking for help. What do you need?"
I didn’t expect to get a response, but then my phone buzzed with another text.
"Thank you for answering. I am an elf. My name is Aelven. Please come to me."
I stared at my phone in disbelief.
An elf?
Was this some kind of prank?
But then I felt that pull again, stronger this time.
It was like something inside me recognized the word "elf" and wanted to go find him.
I’d never felt anything like it before, and it scared me a little.
"I just got a text from an unknown number," I said.
I was still in shock, but I managed to get the words out.
I wasn’t sure what I expected Thomas to say, but I knew he wouldn’t believe me if I told him the truth.
I didn’t even believe me.
I’d been trying to come up with a rational explanation for the past few minutes, but the more I thought about it, the more confused I got.
How could I have gotten a text from an elf?
A part of me knew it sounded crazy to say that, but another part of me couldn’t deny the pull inside me that seemed to confirm it.
As I stood there, trying to make sense of my feelings, Thomas walked over to me with a concerned look on his face.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
I must have looked really shaken up because he was starting to look worried.
"I’m fine," I said, trying to shake off the feeling.
"I think it’s just a prank."
"But you said you got a text from an unknown number," he pointed out.

"I did," I said.
"But it’s not like it was a real elf texting me.
That doesn’t make any sense."
Thomas frowned and opened his mouth to say something, but then he stopped and looked down at his phone.
He was scrolling through his texts and I wondered if he’d gotten a strange message too.
When he looked up, his face was serious.
"Show me," he said.
I didn’t know what he was talking about until he held up his phone to show me the screen.
It was a series of texts from someone named Adelram.
Whoever this person was, they claimed to be an elf too and they were threatening Thomas through his sister Sarah Carter.
They said they would hurt her if Thomas didn’t find her and bring her to them.
I felt my chest tighten as I read the messages.

"Who is this person?" I asked.
Thomas shook his head and looked away.
"I don’t know," he said.
"I’ve been getting texts like this for the past few days and nights."
I could see the fear in his eyes as he spoke.
"Every hour on the hour," he said.
"I thought it was a prank at first, but then I started to get worried when they didn’t stop. Now it’s midnight and he says if I don’t find her and bring her to him, he’ll hurt her."
I could hear the panic in his voice as he spoke and I knew he was telling the truth.
He never lied about things like this and I could see how afraid he was for his sister’s safety.
"I don’t understand," I said.
"How did you find out who he was?"
Thomas hesitated for a moment before answering.

The message was from an unknown number, and it said: "I am an elf, and I need your help."
I didn’t know what to think at first, so I ignored it and went back to work.
But then I felt this pull in my chest, like something was calling me toward it.
I knew it was crazy, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that this was real and that I needed to respond to it.
So I excused myself from my desk under the guise of needing a bathroom break, and went into the restroom to call back the number.
I knew that Thomas would get suspicious if he saw me on my phone, but I had to know what was going on.

My mind was racing as I considered what I would say to the person who had sent me that message.
Was I going to tell them that I believed them?
Or that I thought they were crazy?
What did they want from me?
And why did they think an elf would need my help?
I was so lost in thought that when my phone buzzed again, I nearly dropped it.
This time, the message said: "I am Aelven. Come quickly; you are in danger here. It is urgent you come to me here, now!"
I felt a shiver run down my spine as I read the message.
I knew it was probably a prank, but there was something about the urgency of the text that made me believe there might be some truth to it.

I knew I was being foolish, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that this person might actually be an elf in need of my help.
So I decided to call back the number and see if I could get a sense of who it was and what they wanted from me.
I didn’t expect to get an answer, but when I dialed the number, I was surprised to hear a male voice on the other end of the line. "Hello?" he said. "This is Emily Carter. You just texted me asking for help. What do you need?" I asked. "Please come to my room," he said. "I have something to show you."
I could hear the urgency in his voice and I realized that he wasn’t messing around.

I jumped when I heard Thomas’s voice just outside the bathroom door, and I quickly shoved my phone back into my pocket.
"What are you doing in here?" I asked, trying to sound as casual as possible.
"You were taking a long time," Thomas said, looking at me strangely.
"Are you okay?"
"Of course," I said, forcing a smile.
"I just got a weird text message, that’s all."
Thomas raised an eyebrow at me, clearly not buying my explanation, and I shifted uncomfortably under his gaze.
For a moment, he just stood there staring at me with his arms crossed over his chest, and I could feel the blood rushing to my cheeks as the silence grew more and more awkward.
Finally, he let out a sigh and moved to stand beside me at the sink.

"What did it say?" he asked, his voice soft and gentle.
I could tell he was trying not to scare me, but there was a hint of concern in his eyes that made my stomach churn with fear.
"I don’t know," I said, trying not to sound too panicked.
"It was just a weird message from an unknown number. It’s probably nothing."
Thomas didn’t reply, and I could tell from the look on his face that he didn’t believe me for a second.
He just stood there staring at me for a long moment before letting out a long breath and turning to walk back to the door.
"Come on," he said as we left the bathroom together.
"I want to show you something."
I followed him back to our desks and sat down in front of my computer, trying not to let my hands shake as I waited for him to explain what was going on.
I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I knew it wasn’t going to be good when Thomas sat down beside me and pulled out his phone.
"I’ve been getting messages like this for the past few days," he said, showing me his screen.
"From a guy who calls himself Adelram."
I stared at the screen in disbelief as I read through the messages, my heart pounding in my chest with fear and confusion.
Each one was more threatening than the last, and I could tell from the look on Thomas’s face that he was terrified for his sister’s safety.
"What do they want from you?" I asked, looking up at him with wide eyes.
"They want me to find my sister," he said, his voice low and trembling with fear.
"By midnight tonight." "There’s no way you’ll be able to find her by then," I said, my mind racing as I tried to come up with a plan.
"What will happen if you don’t find her in time?"
