I can't wake from sleep.
I wake up in a room I don’t recognize.
It’s small, with white walls and no windows.
The only light comes from a single bulb hanging from the ceiling.
I try to get up, but my hands are tied behind my back.
I’m lying on a bed, and there’s a woman sitting next to me.
She has curly blonde hair and is wearing a hospital gown.
"Who are you?" I ask her.
She looks at me with a smile on her face.
"I’m Sarah," she says.
"We’re going to be friends."
I look around the room, trying to figure out where I am.
"How did I get here?"
Sarah shrugs.
"I don’t know," she says.
Chapter 1
I try to sit up, but my hands are bound behind my back.
The walls are white, as is the floor and ceiling.
I feel like I’m in a padded cell, but the walls don’t look padded.
There are no windows, no doors, just white walls.
It’s like a prison cell, but without bars.
I grab the rope with my hands and try to break free.
The light above me flickers, and I can see a woman in a hospital gown sitting on a chair next to the bed I’m lying on.
She has curly blonde hair and a big smile on her face.
"Who are you?" I ask her.
She looks at me and grins.
"I’m Sarah," she says.
"We’re going to be friends."
Friends?
Who is this girl, and why is she in my room?
I try to sit up again, but my hands are still tied behind my back.
"How did you get here?"
I ask Sarah.
Sarah shrugs.
"I don’t know," she says.
She gets up from the chair and walks over to me.
She crouches down next to me and starts untying my hands.
I stare at her with a puzzled look on my face as she works.

She gets up from the chair and walks over to me. "Let’s get you untied."
She crouches down next to me and starts untying my hands.
Once my hands are free, I sit up on the bed and look around the room.
"Where are we?"
I ask Sarah.
"This is where we’re going to be spending some time together," she says with a big smile on her face
"Why am I here?"
Sarah shrugs again. "I don’t know. I just woke up here like you."
"Where are we?"
I ask Sarah again. "And is there anyone else here?"

Sarah lies down on the bed next to me and falls asleep almost instantly. "We might know each other? What does that mean?" "Oh," Sarah says as she sits up on the bed. "Sorry about that. The drugs they gave us knocked me out."
Drugs?
What drugs?
"What kind of drugs did they give us?"
Sarah shrugs again. "Not sure. They put it in our food."
Food?
Where was the food?
We haven’t eaten anything since we woke up here

Dreambound: Trapped in the Nightmare
I manage to cut the rope around Sarah’s wrists using a shard of plastic from the food tray, and we decide to explore the room some more in the hopes of finding something that can help us escape this place.
I sit up on the bed, and Sarah does the same on the other side of the room.
The room is empty except for us and the food tray on the floor, which has a pile of food on it now, and a single door on the far side of the room.
The door has no handle or knob, so there’s no way for us to open it from this side, and there’s no way for anyone on the other side to open it either unless they have a key or something similar that they can use to unlock it from their side of the door.
There are strange markings on the walls surrounding the door that seem to move when we get close to them or when we look at them for too long.
Dreambound: Trapped in the Nightmare
"It’s like they’re alive," Sarah says as we get closer to the markings on the wall.
"I wonder if they have anything to do with why we’re here."
"I don’t know," I say as I stare at the markings on the wall and try to make sense of them, but they keep moving around too quickly for me to focus on any one thing for very long, so I give up after a few minutes and go back to examining the rest of the room in the hopes of finding something that we can use to escape this place since it doesn’t seem like anyone else is going to come to our rescue anytime soon, if ever
