Two princes who secretly fall in love with a lot of angst but happy end
I was waiting for him in the garden.
The moonlight was my only company, and I was grateful for it.
I had been waiting for a while, but I didn’t mind.
I would wait forever if I had to.
The sound of footsteps made me turn around, and there he was.
He was running towards me, and when he reached me, he pulled me into his arms.
He kissed me with so much passion that I felt my knees go weak.
When we finally broke apart, he rested his forehead against mine and closed his eyes.
“I love you,” he whispered.
“I love you too,” I replied.
I had been in love with Alex Mercer for as long as I could remember, but we could never be together.
We were both princes of the kingdom of Aragon, and same-gender relationships were forbidden by law.
If our relationship was discovered, we would be executed without a trial.
That was why we had to meet in secret, and even then, we had to be careful.
I was afraid of getting caught, but I was also excited.
I was about to see the love of my life, and that was all that mattered.
The fact that it could get me killed only made it more thrilling.
I was so lost in thought that I didn’t notice him until he was right in front of me.
“Hey there, Leo,” he said with a grin.
“Alex!” I responded with a smile of my own.
He chuckled and pulled me into his arms for a hug.
“Are you glad to see me?”
“I’m always glad to see you,” I replied as I rested my head against his chest.
He sighed and wrapped his arms around me.
“Me too,” he said without looking at me.
We stood there in silence for a while, just enjoying each other’s presence.
When we finally let go, he grabbed my hand and started walking towards the garden.
“Let’s go,” he said with a smile.
“We can’t stay here.”
We walked for a while, making sure that no one saw us together.
Even though we were in the middle of the garden and nobody was around, we were still afraid of getting caught.
Our hearts were racing, but it wasn’t just because we were afraid of getting caught.
We were both in love, and being together made us feel like we were on top of the world.
It was like nothing else mattered as long as we had each other.
We were almost at our destination when we heard footsteps behind us.
We stopped and turned around to see Elena Vargas, the princess of Aragon and one of our best friends, running towards us.
She had blonde hair and bright blue eyes, and she was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen.
“Hey, what are you doing here?”
she asked as she reached us.
“Nothing,” I replied as I avoided her gaze.
“We were just talking.”
She raised an eyebrow and crossed her arms over her chest.
“You’re lying.”
she said as she looked at Alex.
“What’s going on?”
He didn’t say anything, but she could tell that something was wrong by the look on his face.
She sighed and shook her head.
“Fine,” she said as she grabbed my hand and started walking towards our spot with Alex following behind us.
We walked in silence for a while until we finally reached our destination.
It was a small clearing with a bench in the middle of the garden, surrounded by trees that blocked the view from the palace.
It was the perfect place for us to be alone without anyone seeing us, or so we thought.
As soon as we sat down on the bench, Elena turned to us with a stern look on her face and crossed her arms over her chest.
“What are you two doing?”
she asked as she looked at me first and then at Alex.
We both looked down at our hands, unable to meet her gaze.
“We’re just talking,” I replied as I avoided her eyes.
She raised an eyebrow at me but didn’t say anything else.
She stayed quiet for a while until she finally spoke up again.
“Are you sure you’re not doing anything else?”
she asked as she looked at me once more.
I knew that she was talking about my relationship with Alex, but I couldn’t tell her that.
If she knew that we were in love, she would never forgive us.
I shook my head and avoided her gaze again.
She sighed and shook her head but didn’t say anything else.
Instead, she leaned back against the bench and closed her eyes.
“I can’t believe you two sometimes,” she muttered under her breath as she crossed her arms over her chest again.
We stayed like that for a while, just enjoying each other’s presence without saying anything else.
When the sun started to rise, I knew that it was time for us to leave before someone saw us together and we got into trouble.
We stood up from the bench and walked back towards the palace, making sure that nobody saw us together on the way there.
“I can’t believe you two,” Elena muttered as she followed behind us.
“You’re going to get into trouble if you don’t stop.”
“We know,” I replied as I grabbed Alex’s hand and pulled him along with me.
We were almost at the entrance of the palace when Elena stopped walking and turned around to face us.
“Promise me you’ll be careful,” she said as she looked at both of us.
“We will,” I replied with a smile.
“Thank you for everything, Elena.
You’re the best friend we could ever ask for.”
She smiled back at me, and I knew that she would keep our secret safe.
Now we just had to make sure that no one else found out about it.
As soon as Elena left, Alex and I walked deeper into the garden, looking for someplace to be alone.
The sun was shining brightly in the sky, and the birds were chirping happily, but we didn’t care.
We were lost in our own little world, only thinking about each other.
We walked for a while until we finally reached a small clearing surrounded by trees and bushes.
In the middle of the clearing, there was a small pond with a fountain in the middle of it.
“It’s perfect,” Alex said as he sat down on the bench next to the pond.
I sat down next to him and grabbed his hand, looking into his eyes.
“I love you so much.”
“I love you too,” he replied as he leaned closer and kissed me.
His lips were warm and soft against mine, and I couldn’t get enough.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him closer, deepening the kiss.
When we finally broke apart, I rested my forehead against his and closed my eyes.
“I wish we could be together all the time.”
“I know, but we can’t,” he replied, “so we have to make the most of the time we have.”
“Okay,” I said with a smile, “I’ll make this moment last forever.”
I leaned forward and kissed him again, and we both closed our eyes, lost in our own little world where nobody else mattered.
We stayed like that for a while, just enjoying each other’s presence until we heard footsteps behind us.
We turned around and saw Elena running towards us again, but this time, she didn’t look angry.
She looked worried instead.
I stood up and walked over to her as she approached us, but before I could ask her what was wrong, she threw her arms around me and hugged me tightly.
I hugged her back, but I was confused.
“What’s wrong?”
I asked as we broke the hug, but she didn’t answer.
Instead, she turned around and looked at Alex.
“Please, don’t ever leave him,” she said as she walked over to him and hugged him too.
I watched them as they hugged each other, and I could see the tears in Elena’s eyes.
“What’s wrong?”
I asked again as they broke the hug, but still, she didn’t answer me.
“Nothing,” she said as she wiped her eyes, “I just want you two to be happy.”
“Thank you for everything, Elena,” Alex said with a smile as he hugged her again.
“You’re the best,” I added as he let go of her and walked over to me.
We watched as Elena left, and once we were alone again, I grabbed Alex’s hand and pulled him closer.
“What was that all about?”
I asked as I wrapped my arms around his neck and looked into his eyes.
He smiled at me and kissed my forehead before he spoke.
“Don’t worry about it,” he said with a smile, “everything is fine now.”
I smiled back at him before I reached up to kiss him on the lips again, but before I could, he spoke again.
“I love you so much, Leo,” he said as he wrapped his arms around my waist and hugged me close.
“I love you too,” I replied as I rested my head against his chest and closed my eyes.
“I don’t ever want to lose you,” he said as he tightened his hold on me even more.
“You won’t,” I replied as I hugged him back.
“We’ll be together forever.”
I broke the hug and looked up at him, and when I saw the look in his eyes, I knew that he believed me.
I smiled and reached up to kiss him on the lips one more time before I spoke.
“I know it’s not going to be easy,” I said as I wrapped my arms around his neck and looked into his eyes, “but I promise you, I’ll find a way for us to be together.”
“You better,” he replied with a smile, “because I’m not letting you go.”
I smiled back at him before I reached up to kiss him on the lips one more time.
We kissed for a while, and when we finally broke apart, it was getting late.
“We should probably go back,” Alex said as he looked around and saw how dark it was.
“Yeah,” I said with a sigh, “but I don’t want to leave.”
“I know,” he replied, “but we have to go.”
I nodded and stood up, but before I walked away, I grabbed Alex’s hand and pulled him closer.
He looked at me with a confused expression on his face, but I didn’t say anything.
