I had planned a romantic evening with my mate, Luna.
I had been waiting for this day for so long, and I wanted to spend some quality time with her.
But she was late, and I was getting impatient.
I had already set up the table with her favorite dishes and lit the candles.
I walked to the window and looked outside.
The moon was shining brightly, and the stars were twinkling in the sky.
It was a beautiful night, and I wanted to spend it with my mate.
I heard a knock on the door and rushed to open it.
Luna was standing there with a worried expression on her face.
"Hey," she said as she walked in.
"Sorry I'm late."
"It's okay," I said as I closed the door behind her.
"I thought you weren't coming."
"I'm sorry," she said as she walked past me into the living room.
"I got caught up at work."
I followed her into the living room and saw that she was still wearing her work clothes.
"It's okay," I said as I walked up to her.
"How was your day?"
"It was good," she said as she sat down on the couch.
"I had a meeting with the council, and then I had to go through the monthly reports."
"Sounds like a long day," I said as I sat down next to her.
"But it's over now."
She leaned into me and rested her head on my shoulder.
"I'm sorry I'm late," she said again.
"It's okay," I said as I wrapped my arm around her.
"I've been waiting for you."
"I know," she said with a sigh.
"I'm sorry."
"Don't be," I said as I turned to look at her.
I wanted to tell her how much I missed her, how lonely I was without her by my side, but I knew that it wouldn't change anything.
Instead, I just smiled at her and said, "I'm just glad you're here now."
She smiled back at me, and I felt my heart swell with love for her.
She was everything to me, and I would do anything to make her happy.
I leaned in closer and pressed my lips against hers.
I could feel the tension leave her body as she melted into my embrace.
I gently kissed her, savoring the feel of her soft lips against mine.
I never got tired of kissing her, and I could spend hours just holding her in my arms.
But we both had to work tomorrow, and I didn't want to keep her up too late.
As much as I wanted to spend the night making love to her, there were only a few hours left until sunrise, and we would have to get up soon.
I pulled away from her reluctantly and looked into her eyes.
She smiled back at me, and I felt a surge of happiness rush through me.
I loved her so much, more than life itself, and I would do anything for her.
I brushed a lock of hair out of her face and whispered, "I love you."
"I love you too," she said back.
I wanted to tell her that I would always be there for her, that we would grow old together, but I knew that it wasn't true.
We were both immortal creatures - werewolves who could live for hundreds of years.
But even so, we wouldn't be together forever.
One day, she would die, and there was nothing that either of us could do about it.
But until that day came, I would make sure that she was happy, that she felt loved every single day.
I kissed her again, this time more passionately than before.
She responded eagerly, wrapping her arms around my neck and pulling me closer.
I kissed her with all the love I felt in my heart, savoring the feel of her soft lips against mine.
I couldn't help but get lost in the moment, in the feel of her in my arms.
But soon enough, we pulled away from each other, both breathless and flushed with desire.
"We should probably go eat dinner," Luna said after a moment, a hint of reluctance in her voice.
I’m lucky to have her.
"Of course, Luna." It took me a moment to get my thoughts back on track.
My eyes had been locked with hers for god knows how long.
It's like we're both drawn to each other.
"Let's go." And then she smiled at me one last time.
I love her smile.
It's like a ray of sunshine.
I gave her one last peck on her lips and stood up.
I held out my hand for her to take.
She smiled at me and took it.
As soon as our hands touched, sparks flew between us.
It's like an invisible string is tying us together telling me that we are meant to be together.
And I believe it's true.
I looked down at her and couldn't help but smile.
Her eyes sparkled with happiness and love and devotion.
And just like that, all my troubles were gone.
I could feel myself falling for her all over again.
Our bond was getting stronger and stronger and soon enough we will become one.
Luna smiled at me and cupped my cheek with her free hand.
"What are you thinking about?" She asked me softly, her eyes filled with concern and love for me.
And I couldn't help but smile at her.
She was always so perceptive and caring.
"Nothing," I said as I leaned into her touch and nuzzled her hand.
"I was just lost in your eyes."
She blushed at my words and looked down shyly, and I couldn't help but smile at her again.
But soon enough, the smile slipped off my face as I remembered what we were going to do tonight.
"I thought we were going to have dinner?" She asked me a moment later.
I looked up at her and saw that she was looking at me curiously, a hint of confusion in her eyes.
And then I remembered what we were going to do tonight.
"We are," I said as I pulled away from her and walked over to the table and picked up a chair for her.
She smiled at me again and sat down on the chair.
I pulled out another for myself and sat down across from her.
But before I could say anything else, Luna yawned and stretched her arms above her head.
And I could see how exhausted she was.
It broke my heart to see her like this - tired and worn out from all her work as Luna and running her company on top of that.
She had so much on her plate, and it pained me to see how much pressure she put on herself to do everything perfectly and take care of everyone around her.
But I couldn’t blame her for it.
She only wanted what’s best for our pack and everyone around us who trusted her to take care of them when they needed help.
I stood up from my chair and walked over to her when I saw how exhausted she was.
She looked up at me in confusion when I stood behind her chair and pulled it out for her.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm helping you undress."
I remembered how to unbutton it from last time, but to be honest, I never thought I’d be undressing her tonight again…
I think I’m just going to sleep right now." She said as she got up from her chair and started walking away from me towards the bed.
I stood there for a moment, watching her leave, but then I ran after her and grabbed her hand before she could get far away from me.
"Please don't leave," I said to her softly as I held her hand in mine, not willing to let her go just yet, not when we’ve just started our evening together…
But Luna didn’t say anything to me or acknowledge what I’d said to her at all…she just sat down on the bed and lay down on her back, with her head resting on one of the pillows, facing away from me, hiding her face from me so that I couldn’t see it anymore…
I watched her for a moment, feeling my heart ache with love for her as I saw how tired she was, even in sleep…
The moonlight shone through the window, illuminating her face with a soft light, making it look even more beautiful than usual…sometimes, I thought that Luna didn’t even know how beautiful she really was…
I’d always thought that even if I lived a hundred lifetimes, I would never find another woman who was as beautiful as Luna was…
Or someone who could make my heart race with just one look, or send electricity through my body every time our skin touched…
I leaned down closer to her and looked at her face, gently lifting her hand up and pressing it to my lips as I kissed it softly…
I traced her perfect features with my eyes - her long, dark eyelashes resting against her cheeks, her soft skin glowing in the moonlight…
I loved Luna more than anything in this world, and that was exactly why I would do anything to make her happy…
Even if that meant making sacrifices for the pack or giving up something that I wanted for myself because it wasn’t what Luna wanted…
I would do it if it meant that it would make her happy, because seeing her happy made me happy too…
I sat there for a while longer before I finally came to my senses and realized that I should let her sleep…
Luna had been up since early in the morning, taking care of everyone in the pack and working at her company later in the afternoon…
She was probably very tired from all the things that she’d done today…
And I didn’t want to keep her up when I knew that she needed to rest if she was going to have enough energy to be able to get up tomorrow morning for another busy day of work again…
I leaned down closer to her again, pressing one final kiss to her cheek before I quietly got up from the bed, making sure that I didn’t wake her up…
Luna didn’t know this, but I’d been watching her for a while now…
And even though I knew that it wouldn’t be right for me to say this out loud, I couldn’t help but think that Luna was perfect in every single way…
