SpongeBob SquarePants woke up in his pineapple house, ready for another day at the Krusty Krab.
He was excited to get to work and start flipping patties.
He got dressed, grabbed his hat, and ran out the door.
He was so excited that he didn’t even notice that he had forgotten to put on his square pants.
He ran to the Krusty Krab as fast as he could, but when he got there, he saw a long line of customers waiting outside.
He was confused because the Krusty Krab wasn’t supposed to be open yet.
SpongeBob went up to the front of the line and asked the customer who was first in line what was going on.
The customer told him that they were all waiting for the grand opening of a new restaurant called The Chum Bucket.
SpongeBob was shocked that Plankton had actually managed to open a restaurant and that people were actually lining up to eat there.
He knew that he had to do something about it, so he went inside the Krusty Krab and started cooking patties as fast as he could.
The Chum Bucket wasn’t going to open for hours, so SpongeBob had to come up with a plan to keep the customers busy until then.
SpongeBob woke up with a start.
He looked at his alarm clock and let out a gasp.
He was supposed to be at work at the Krusty Krab in less than 5 minutes!
He quickly changed into his square pants and hat and ran out of his house as fast as he could.
He was so excited to get to work and start flipping patties that he didn’t even notice that he had forgotten to put on shoes.
When he got to the Krusty Krab, he saw that there was a long line of people waiting outside.
He was confused because the Krusty Krab wasn’t supposed to be open yet.
SpongeBob went up to the customer who was first in line and asked him what they were all doing there.
“We’re here waiting for The Chum Bucket to open,” the customer told him.
SpongeBob asked, “Why are you waiting for The Chum Bucket to open?”
The customer showed him a newspaper that he was holding.
On the front page, there was an ad for The Chum Bucket that said “GRAND OPENING TODAY!”
The customer said, “The Chum Bucket is giving away free food today only, so we’re all here to get some.”
SpongeBob realized what had happened.
He had overslept and forgotten that Mr.
Krabs had asked him to come in early so they could get ready for the big party they were having.
Tonight was going to be the Krusty Krab’s grand reopening party because they were going to start being open 24/7!
Today was a very important day for the Krusty Krab because if they didn’t get any new customers, they would go out of business!
How could he have forgotten?
He had to go back inside and help Mr.
Krabs prepare for the big day, but he felt bad for the customers who were waiting outside, so he told them, “Don’t worry, everyone!
The Krusty Krab will be open soon!”
But the customers weren’t listening to him.
They were too busy staring at the ad for The Chum Bucket’s grand opening party and drooling over the free food they were going to eat in a few hours.

SpongeBob went inside and started cooking patties as fast as he could.
He was worried that if he didn’t cook enough food for everyone today, then the Krusty Krab would go out of business, and he would be out of a job!
When SpongeBob was done cooking all of the food, he put it on a cart and pushed it outside so that the people who were waiting in line would know that they would be able to eat soon.
But when they saw the food, they started pushing each other out of the way so that they could eat first.
SpongeBob tried to tell them that they would all get some, but they weren’t listening; they just wanted their free food!
SpongeBob felt so bad that there was nothing he could do to stop them.
I didn’t want Plankton to steal all of our customers, so I ran into the Krusty Krab, where I found Mr.
I explained what was going on, and we both ran outside just in time to see all of our customers run next door, where they were greeted by Plankton, who handed them all a coupon for free food!
How could this be happening?
We needed these customers if we were going to stay in business!
I looked over at Mr.
Krabs, who looked like he was about to cry, but instead, his eyes narrowed, and he clenched his fist in anger.
He said, “Not on my watch!” He ran into The Chum Bucket and threatened Plankton with his life if he didn’t give all of our customers back!
Mr.Krabs came out of The Chum Bucket with all of our customers behind him, but before they could come back inside, I saw what had happened.
Plankton had given them all even more coupons for free food, so they were all leaving again!
I felt so bad that I had lost all of our customers that I knelt down in front of Mr.
Krabs and begged, “Give me another chance, Mr.
Krabs!Let me cook more patties!I can win them back!”
Mr.Krabs wasn’t sure at first, but I promised him that I would save us from bankruptcy!
And then, finally, after what felt like forever of waiting for Mr.
Krabs to make up his mind, he said, “Okay, SpongeBob.You can start flipping patties again.”
I jumped for joy at his decision and ran into the kitchen.
I was so excited that I didn’t even care that my feet hurt from running outside without any shoes on.
My feet were bleeding all over the floor, but I didn’t care because I was finally back where I belonged: in the kitchen of The Krusty Krab flipping patties for our loyal customers.
It had been so long since I had cooked my last patty that I didn’t realize how much I had missed it until now.
As soon as I started cooking again, everything felt right with the world.
The Krusty Krab is finally open for business!”
Mr.Krabs yelled from outside as customers started running in from all directions.
Let me tell you about the party that we had last night because it was insane!
I spent most of my time cleaning up after everyone who spilled their drinks on the floor while they were waiting in line, but there was a lot of stuff that I couldn’t clean up because it was too big for me to move by myself.
There were bounce houses and water slides outside; inside, there were karaoke machines with microphones that people could use to sing their favorite songs.
It helped that Squidward knew how to play every instrument ever made because he could play any song that someone wanted to sing.
My favorite part of the night was when Squidward played his clarinet while people sang along with him!
One person even sang while standing on their head!
But the best part of all is that there were unlimited Krabby Patties, which everyone loved because they were so full of flavor and delicious!
When Plankton saw how successful our party was, he tried to throw one of his own, but he couldn’t get as many people to come because his food is terrible!
After the party ended, Mr.
Krabs ran around cleaning everything up while Squidward took a nap in his own bed until it was time for us to go to work again.
My plan was to start cooking as fast as I could so the smell of the patties would drift out the door and into the air where people were still waiting in line to get into The Chum Bucket.
I wanted the smell of our food to be so delicious and appetizing that it would make them drop their chum buckets on the ground and run to The Krusty Krab as fast as they could.
Plankton thought he could steal our customers away from us by giving away free food.
Well, I would show him!
I flipped those patties faster than I ever had before.
I added the fresh lettuce and tomatoes and the perfect amount of mayo to each one.
The smell of the patties cooking filled the air and attracted every person within a 50-mile radius to The Krusty Krab.
It wasn’t long before there were hundreds of people in line outside our restaurant.
Squidward went outside to take orders while I flipped patties in the kitchen.
Mr.Krabs opened the cash register and started taking in money from customers who had already received their food.
“Come on in to The Krusty Krab!We are serving fresh Krabby Patties all day and night!”
he yelled to people who were walking down the street.
The line in front of The Chum Bucket had really dwindled by now because everyone who had been waiting in line all day had finally been let in to get their free bucket of chum.
Plankton couldn’t help but feel a little bit paranoid as he watched his customers slowly start to walk away.
He knew it would only be a matter of time before they would come running back when they realized how terrible his food really is.
But he couldn’t shake the feeling that Mr.
Krabs was up to something because he always is.
He just didn’t know what it was yet, but he knew it couldn’t be good, whatever it was.
The smell of our Krabby Patties filled the air outside so much that people could smell them all the way at The Chum Bucket.
They took one whiff of the delicious scent and said, “I’m never eating chum again!It smells like someone threw up in a bucket!”
They all ran over to The Krusty Krab as fast as they could, but there were so many people in front of them that they would have to wait in line for at least an hour before they could get their food.
But they didn’t care because they knew it would be worth the wait!
The competition between The Chum Bucket and The Krusty Krab was fierce on this day.
Mr.Krabs knew that Plankton was giving away free food to anyone who came into his restaurant, so he decided to do something even better: He would give away his restaurant’s signature dish, the Krabby Patty, for free!
It had been a while since I had cooked patties at work, but I hadn’t lost my touch.
I flipped those patties like a pro and added all the extra ingredients that made them taste so good.
People came running from all over town just to get their hands on one of those delicious patties!
Mr.Krabs opened up his cash register right away when he saw how many people were coming into the restaurant.
