The sun was setting, and the sky was dyed a deep red.
Li Tianjun was walking on the mountain path with his daughter, Li Muyang.
The two of them were carrying baskets, and they were returning from the market.
Li Muyang was only six years old, but she was very sensible.
She had been following her father to practice martial arts since she was young.
She knew that her father had a lot of things to do every day, so she would help him with some of the housework when she had time.
"Father, I heard that there is a new martial arts master in the city today."
Li Muyang suddenly said.
Li Tianjun's eyes flashed with a hint of surprise when he heard this.
He asked, "Who did you hear this from?"
"I heard it from Auntie Lan," Li Muyang replied.
Li Tianjun nodded his head and said, "Auntie Lan is not someone who would lie to you."
He then asked, "Do you want to go and take a look?"
Li Muyang nodded her head vigorously and said, "Yes!"
"Father, where is the new martial arts master from?"
Li Muyang asked with a curious look on her face.
Li Tianjun said, "I don't know either.
We'll know when we meet him tomorrow."
"Father, can I learn martial arts from him as well?"
Li Muyang continued to ask.
Li Tianjun smiled and said, "Of course.
But you have to work hard and practice diligently.
Don't waste your own time and energy."
"I know, Father!" Li Muyang replied.
The two of them were chatting happily along the way.
The mountain path was narrow and winding.
There were lush greenery and towering trees all around, and it was very serene.
The two of them were walking slowly, and they could still see the entrance of the village from where they were.
The sky had turned dark, and the stars were shining brightly in the sky.
Suddenly, a shadow flashed past them.
It was a massive bird with scarlet feathers, and it was flying in the sky.
Li Muyang was so scared that she immediately ran to Li Tianjun's side and hugged him tightly.
The massive bird flew in the sky and blocked out the moonlight from time to time, casting a shadow on the ground below.
Li Muyang was so scared that she buried her head in Li Tianjun's arms, and she didn't dare to look at it again.
"Father, what is that?" Li Muyang asked with a trembling voice.
"It's a roc!" Li Tianjun replied with a smile.
"Father, what is a roc?"
Li Muyang asked with a confused look on her face.
"The roc is a type of bird," Li Tianjun explained patiently.
"It is said that it lives in the Kunlun Mountains, and it has an incredible speed.
It can fly eighty thousand miles in one day, and it can carry heavy things on its back as well."
"Can it fly that fast?" Li Muyang asked with wide eyes opened in disbelief
"That's right." Li Tianjun nodded his head and said, "It's said that the roc is the fastest creature in the world."
After hearing what Li Tianjun had said, Li Muyang finally felt a little relieved.
She then asked again, "Father, will the roc hurt us?"
Li Tianjun smiled and said, "Of course not!
Don't be afraid; I'll protect you!"
After hearing what Li Tianjun had said, Li Muyang finally felt at ease.
She then asked again, "Father, will we be able to see the roc tomorrow when we go to the city?"
Li Tianjun smiled and said, "Maybe you'll be able to see it if you're lucky enough!"
Li Muyang's eyes lit up when she heard this, and a smile appeared on her face as well.
The two of them walked slowly along the mountain path while they chatted happily along the way.
When they reached home, I cooked some food for Li Muyang before telling her to go back to her room and rest.
I then returned to my room to cultivate my internal energy before going to bed.

The next day, I woke up early in the morning, and I took Li Muyang to the city.
The new martial arts master was not there when we arrived.
When we asked around, we found out that he had already left a few days ago.
This made me a little disappointed, but Li Muyang didn't really care.
She was still very excited about seeing a real roc.
The two of us left the city and headed back to our village.
After walking for about an hour, Li Muyang suddenly stopped in her tracks, and she looked up into the sky.
"Father, isn't that the roc you were talking about yesterday?" Li Muyang asked with a surprised look on her face.
When I looked up into the sky, I saw a massive bird with scarlet feathers flying in the air.
Its wingspan was more than ten meters long, and it was circling around in midair.
I nodded my head and said, "That's right!
It's indeed a roc!"
Li Muyang was so excited that she immediately jumped up and down, and she kept asking me, "Father, is this really a roc?
Is it really as fast as you said yesterday?
I didn't expect the two of us to actually see a real roc today.
Seeing how excited Li Muyang was, I couldn't help but feel happy for her as well.
"Father, can the roc fly very fast?"
Li Muyang asked with wide eyes opened.
"That's right," I replied with a smile.
"Can it fly faster than an eagle?"
I shook my head and said, "No!
An eagle is not fast compared to the roc!"
Li Muyang was very surprised when she heard this.
She then asked again, "Father, can the roc fly faster than a leopard?"
I shook my head again and said, "It's not fast either!"
Li Muyang then asked, "Father, can the roc fly faster than a horse?"
I shook my head once more and said, "It's not fast either!"
Li Muyang then asked in disbelief, "Father, how can that be?
The eagle is already very fast when it flies, let alone the leopard or the horse!
How can the roc not be as fast as them?"
I smiled helplessly as I looked at Li Muyang.
It seemed like she didn't believe me.
"Father, if the roc is not as fast as them, how can it be the fastest creature in the world?"
I smiled helplessly as I looked at Li Muyang.
The two of us were standing on the mountain path while we looked up into the sky.
The massive bird was flying around in midair from time to time, and its speed seemed quite fast indeed.
However, it was still not as fast as Li Muyang had imagined it to be.
So she felt a little disappointed.
This caused me to feel a little helpless as well.
After thinking for a moment, I decided to explain everything to her patiently.
"Li Muyang," I said with a smile.
"When I said that the roc is the fastest creature in the world yesterday, I meant that it is the fastest creature among all land animals!"

"Is it a divine bird?"
"That's right," I replied with a nod.
"It's a divine bird that has lived for thousands of years.
It's very noble, but it's also very dangerous.
The most important thing is that there are very few divine birds in the world, so it's impossible for you to see one…"
"Father, will the roc eat people?"
Li Muyang was a little scared after hearing that the roc was so dangerous.
I quickly smiled when I saw this, "Don't be scared, Li Muyang!
The roc has a very fierce-looking face, but it's actually a very kind creature.
It rarely attacks humans, so it'll definitely not eat any people…"
Li Muyang then said with bright eyes opened, "But I would like to see a real roc one day!"
I was stunned when I heard this, "Are you not scared anymore?"
Li Muyang smiled innocently when she heard this, "No, I'm not scared anymore!"
I couldn't help but smile when I saw this, "Alright then!"
The two of us then returned home while we talked about the roc along the way.
As we were walking along the mountain path, I suddenly realized that Li Muyang had grown up quite a lot recently.
She had only just turned eight this year, but she was already quite tall for her age.
She was also wearing a new outfit today.
Her petite body looked quite beautiful as it moved about gracefully in the wind.
A warm feeling then welled up in my heart when I saw my daughter looking like this.
She looked exactly like her mother when she was around the same age…
However, she was currently living happily beside me without any care in the world.
As long as she could continue to live happily like this, I was willing to do anything for her… even if it meant losing everything else in return!
"Father, what are you thinking about?"
As I was lost in my thoughts, Li Muyang suddenly looked up at me as she noticed the change in my expression.
I quickly smiled and replied, "I'm not thinking about anything!"
Li Muyang blinked her eyes and looked at me as she said, "You're lying to me!"
I smiled helplessly as I looked at Li Muyang.
The two of us then continued to walk home while chatting and laughing along the way.
After walking for some time, we finally arrived home.
The two of us put down the baskets that we were carrying.
When Li Muyang saw this, she immediately picked up the smaller basket and said with a smile, "Father, you're tired from carrying so many things, so I'll help you out with this one!"
I quickly smiled when I saw this, "Alright, then!"
The two of us then entered our home while carrying the two baskets in our hands.
Once we placed the fruits and vegetables that we had bought into their respective storage spaces, the sun had already set.
The two of us then went to the courtyard to bask under the sun while watching the sunset.
