The first time I saw Aria, she was walking down the runway at a fashion show.
She was wearing a black leather corset with matching fishnet stockings and knee-high boots.
Her hair was dyed a deep shade of purple, and her lips were painted black.
She had a look that said she didn’t give a fuck what anyone thought of her, and I was instantly drawn to her.
I’d been modeling for a few years at that point, but I’d never seen anyone who looked like her on the runway before.
I knew right then and there that I had to meet her.
After the show, I went backstage and introduced myself.
We hit it off right away, and we’ve been together ever since.
That was three years ago, and now we’re one of the most well-known alternative model couples in the industry.
We’ve done countless photo shoots together, and we’re always getting asked to walk in fashion shows as a pair.
Tonight is one of those shows.
We’re all getting ready together in the green room, and I can feel the energy in the room as everyone gets more and more excited.
“Have you guys seen the shoes we have to wear?”
Leo asks as he enters the room.
“The heels are like four inches tall.
How the fuck are we supposed to walk in them?I’m going to break an ankle.”
And that’s Leo for you.
He has a tendency to be a little dramatic, but he’s also one of the funniest people I know.
That’s part of what makes him such a great model.
He’s always making us laugh backstage, which helps to keep things light during the show.
“You’ll be fine,” I tell him with a laugh.
“And don’t worry, I’ll catch you if you fall.”
“Just make sure you get it on camera,” he tells me with a smirk.
“I need to go viral somehow, don’t I?”
Aria smirks at his comment.
“Isn’t that how you got that modeling gig last year?”
“Hey, it was only for a minute,” he tells her with a wink.
“It still counts,” I tell him with a laugh.
Leo is one of the most loyal people I know, and he’d do anything for Aria and me.
He’s been our friend since we all met at that first fashion show three years ago, and we’ve had each other’s backs ever since.
I’m not sure what I’d do without him.
“No more talking,” someone yells as they close the door to the green room.
We all go back to work, and within minutes there are people surrounding us trying to get us ready for the show.
There are makeup artists and hair stylists working on us, trying to make sure we look perfect before we walk down the runway.
The air is buzzing with excitement as everyone tries to get everything done at once.
Except for Aria, who is always calm and collected no matter what the situation might be.
I can feel her hands gently massaging my shoulders as she waits for me to finish getting my makeup done.
She always knows exactly how to calm my nerves, and I’m grateful to have her here with me.
As the years have gone by, she’s been the one constant in my life, and I don’t know what I’d do without her.
Over the years, we’ve done countless shows together, and we’ve seen each other at our best and our worst.
The fashion industry is tough, but we’ve always been able to get through it as long as we have each other.
She finishes with my shoulders and then moves to sit next to me.
I turn to her and kiss her lightly on the lips before settling in beside her.
She wraps her arm around my waist, and I rest my head on her shoulder.
I love the way she smells, like lavender and vanilla, and I close my eyes as I breathe her in.
We sit like that for a few minutes, taking a moment to relax before the show begins.
When I open my eyes again, I see Leo sitting across from us.

“Because that was seriously one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.”
I’m not sure what you’re talking about,” he says with an innocent look on his face.
But we all know that he’s anything but.
“Come on, you have to admit it was pretty hilarious,” I say with a laugh.
“I mean, how many people can say they fell while walking down the runway?”
“It wasn’t just that he fell,” Aria says with a little smirk.
“It was the way he fell like he was practicing his breakdancing moves.”
“Oh, come on!”
Leo says with a little pout.
“That’s not fair.”
“How did you even manage to trip over the train of your jacket?”
I ask him with a laugh.
You’re lucky you didn’t rip the entire thing off in the process.”
“I think you might be exaggerating just a little bit there,” he says with a wink.
“But hey, if you guys want me to do it for you right now, I totally will.
I’ll even throw in an extra spin just for you.”
“You would probably trip over your own two feet before you even made it halfway down the runway,” Aria says with a little smirk.
“Ouch,” he says with a little pout.
“You know that hurts my feelings.”
“Oh hush,” I tell him with a laugh.
“You love it when we make fun of you.”
He grins at me.
“Yeah, that’s true.”
He looks at us both for a moment before glancing at Aria.
“So are you going to go out there and show everyone what a badass model you are?
Or are you going to be too distracted by your one true love?”
I feel my cheeks heat up at that and I glance at Aria to see if she noticed how much Leo is teasing me.
But she doesn’t seem to be bothered by it at all.
In fact, she looks like she’s barely even paying attention to our conversation.
Her eyes are fixed on me, and there’s a little smirk on her face that makes me wonder what she’s thinking.
“How could I ever get distracted by my one true love?”
I say with a little grin.
“Oh please,” Leo says with a roll of his eyes.
“You two are so disgusting.
You’re just jealous that we’re cuter than you,” I say with a laugh.
“Not even close,” he says with a little grin.
Aria glances over at him for a moment and raises one eyebrow as if to say “oh really?”
He quickly looks away and clears his throat as if he didn’t notice her expression.
“I’m sorry,” he says with a little pout.
“Don’t look at me like that.I’m just saying that I think it’s really sweet how much you care about each other.”
I can tell that he means it too.
As much as Leo likes to make fun of us, he knows how important we are to each other, and he would never say anything to hurt our feelings on purpose.
Aria reaches out and takes my hand in hers when she sees that I’m getting nervous again.
She gives it a little squeeze and looks at me like she knows exactly what I’m thinking.
I try to smile back at her even though I can feel my heart pounding in my chest.

“Aria is all I have on my mind right now,” I tell him.
“Oh really?”
he asks with a little grin.
“Is that right, Aria?
I thought you said you were going to be concentrating on the show tonight.”
Aria smiles back at me like she knows what he’s trying to do.
“I am concentrating on the show,” she says with a little grin.
“But Skylar is always on my mind too.”
I can feel my cheeks heat up again at her words and I look down for a moment so that Leo won’t notice how much she’s making me blush.
But when I glance up again, I see that Aria is looking right at me with an expression that tells me she knows exactly how much she affects me with her words.
She winks at me for just a second before returning to her makeup, and suddenly I find myself smiling again even though I was scared about going out onto the runway only moments ago.
“So does that mean I get to be your one true love too?”
he asks in a teasing voice.
“Oh please,” Aria says with a little roll of her eyes.
“You’re not even close.”
“But you do love me more than you love Skylar, right?”
he asks with a little grin.
Aria glares at him for a second before reaching out as if she’s about to pinch him in the arm.
“But don’t worry,” she says with a wink.
“You’ll always be my number one diva.”
I laugh when she calls him a diva and I see him look around as if he’s expecting someone else to show up with his tiara any second now.
Then he clears his throat and holds his hand out toward me with a little bow like he’s my coach or something.
“If you two are done talking about your one true loves, then maybe you should come over here so I can help you get ready for the show.”
“Oh please,” I tell him with a little laugh.
“Like we need your help.”
“Yeah, don’t you have your own show to get ready for?”
Aria asks with a little grin that tells me she’s only teasing him again.
But he doesn’t seem to notice that she’s making fun of him and he looks away from us and clears his throat like he’s about to give us some kind of announcement or something.
“As much as I would love to see you two make complete fools of yourselves on the runway by tripping over your own feet or something equally as embarrassing, I have my own show to worry about right now.”
