A young man named Ethan, due to going through a tough time, summons a Succubus to provide him with comfort.
I looked out of my bedroom window, the amber hues of twilight casting long shadows across the street.
Cars whizzed by, their red taillights gleaming like eyes in the darkness.
The world outside was alive, bustling with activity and oblivious to the turmoil that churned within me.
I leaned against the windowsill, a mix of emotions swirling inside me.
I felt lost, adrift on a sea of hopelessness, and I didn’t know what to do about it.
The world had taken so much from me, and I was tired of fighting to get it back.
My room was dimly lit, the only sources of light being the flickering candles placed around the floor.
The dancing flames cast eerie shadows across the walls, moving like living creatures in the stillness of the room.
I took a deep breath, the scent of burning wax filling my nostrils, and let it out slowly.
What was I going to do?
My life was a mess, a series of unfortunate events that had left me scarred and broken.
Once upon a time, I had been so full of promise.
I had been at the top of my class in school, with a bright future ahead of me.
I had even dated one of the most popular girls in my grade.
But then things changed.
My father passed away in a car accident when I was fifteen years old, and my mother had been diagnosed with breast cancer not long after.
With my father gone, it fell to me to take care of my mother while she underwent treatment and eventually passed away as well.
Because my mother had been too sick to work, we lost our home and were forced to move into a tiny apartment on the bad side of town.
I had to drop out of school in order to work so that we could afford to eat and pay rent on our tiny apartment.
For a while, it seemed like things were getting better.
I managed to save up enough money for us to move into a better place, and I even enrolled in a GED program at a local community college.
But then my mother’s cancer came back, and I had to drop out of school again in order to take care of her.
She died shortly after, leaving me completely and utterly alone in the world.
It was more than I could handle, and I fell into a deep depression that I wasn’t sure I would ever be able to climb out of.
For a while, I was angry at the world for taking everything from me, but now I was just tired.
Tired of feeling sorry for myself, and tired of being alone.
But most of all, I was tired of feeling so damn lonely all the time.
So I did something that I never would have imagined doing in a million years: I summoned a Succubus.
Seduced by Shadows
I know exactly what I want. It's my desire.
I wasn’t sure what had come over me, but in that moment, there was nothing that I wanted more than to summon a Succubus.
I had always been fascinated by the arcane, and I’d spent countless hours reading books about magic, demons, and other supernatural creatures.
But until now, I’d never actually believed any of it was real.
But now, as I sat cross-legged on the floor of my room, staring down at the ancient tome that lay open before me, I couldn’t help but wonder if there was some truth to those old legends after all.
The book was leather-bound and smelled like dust, its yellowed pages filled with strange symbols and arcane knowledge that had been lost to time.
I’d bought it from a strange little bookstore on the edge of town, owned by an even stranger little man who claimed to be descended from a long line of witches and warlocks.
At first, I hadn’t believed him, but then he’d shown me some of his collection of rare magical artifacts, and I knew that he’d been telling the truth.
It had taken me weeks to work up the nerve to actually use the book, but recent events had pushed me to the brink, and I needed something more to comfort me.
My girlfriend, Sarah, had broken up with me a few months ago, saying that she couldn’t handle dealing with my emotional baggage anymore.
We’d grown up together, and she’d been my best friend for as long as I could remember.
She’d been there for me when my father died, and when my mother got sick, and when we’d lost our home.
And she’d also been there for me after we’d broken up, but things between us had never been the same.
We both knew that they never would be.
And now, even that small comfort had been taken away from me.
So here I was, sitting in the middle of a pentagram that I’d drawn on the floor with chalk, surrounded by candles.
Seduced by Shadows
The book lay open before me, its pages filled with warnings about the dangers of summoning demons, but I ignored them.
I didn’t care about any of that.
What did I have to lose, after all?
My soul?
If there was one thing that I’d learned over the past few years, it was that my soul wasn’t worth much anyway.
So why not?
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, trying to calm the nervous fluttering in my stomach.
This was it.
There was no turning back now.
Taking a deep breath, I began to chant the incantations written on the page before me.
“Hear me, oh demoness of darkness,” I intoned, trying to make my voice sound strong and powerful.
“By the power of the ancient gods, I command you to appear before me!”
I spoke the words three times, just as the book had instructed me to do.
For a moment, nothing happened, and for a brief second, a sense of déjà vu washed over me.
A memory of Sarah flashed before my eyes – her golden hair shining like spun silk in the sunlight, her green eyes twinkling with mischief as she laughed at something that I’d said – but then it was gone.

I pushed the memory away and focused on the task at hand.
“Lilith Nightshade,” I continued, “demoness of desire, I call upon you to appear before me!”
Seduced by Shadows
I sexy lady appears.
And then there was a flash of light, so bright that it made me flinch and turn away, even though I was sitting in the middle of a pentagram.
When the light faded, I blinked and looked up.
Standing at the edge of the pentagram, staring at me with glowing red eyes, was a sexy lady.
I say “sexy lady” because that’s what the ancient tome had called her, but that description didn’t even begin to do her justice.
Her skin was as pale as snow, and her long black hair cascaded down her back in soft waves.
Seduced by Shadows
Her features were delicate and refined, like those of a porcelain doll.
Her body was slender and curvy, with full breasts and hips that swayed seductively as she moved.
She was wearing a long black dress, cut scandalously low in the front and back, that clung to her every curve.

Her lips were painted blood red, and when she smiled, I could see that her teeth were sharp and pointed.
For a moment, neither of us spoke.
The only sound in the room was the crackling of the candles and my own heavy breathing.
Then the sexy lady stepped forward and the air in the room crackled with energy.
Her voice was soft and sensual, but there was an underlying note of command in it that made me shiver.
“I heard your summons, human,” she said.
I swallowed hard and forced myself to meet her gaze.
“I am Lilith Nightshade,” she continued, “demoness of desire and ruler of the succubi.”
I nodded, not trusting myself to speak.
“What is your name?”
she asked, tilting her head to the side slightly.
“Ethan,” I managed to say.
Her smile widened at the sound of my voice.
“Ethan,” she said, drawing out my name like she was savoring it on her tongue.
“And what is it that you desire, Ethan?”
I opened my mouth to answer, but the words died in my throat when she stepped fully into the light and I got my first good look at her face.
Her features were so perfect that they almost seemed unnatural, like they’d been carved out of marble by some divine sculptor who’d made it his life’s work to create the most beautiful woman in existence.
But it was her eyes that truly captivated me.
They were the color of rubies, and they blazed with an inner fire that was both terrifying and intoxicating.
Seduced by Shadows
I tore my gaze away from her face and forced myself to look down at the floor, trying to ignore the way that her beauty made my heart race and my stomach flip-flop with fear and desire.
“Do you not find me pleasing, Ethan?”
she asked, taking another step closer to me until she was standing right in front of me.
I shook my head and tried to speak again, but the words wouldn’t come.
Lilith reached out and cupped my cheek in her hand, tilting my face up so that our eyes met once more.
Her touch was gentle but firm, and when she spoke again, her voice was barely more than a whisper.
“Don’t be afraid,” she said.
“I’m here now, and I’ll never let anything bad happen to you again.”
Seduced by Shadows
I could feel the words of the ancient incantation rolling off my tongue, even though I had no idea what they meant or what language they were in.
As I chanted, my body moved of its own accord, my hands making strange gestures in the air as if pulling invisible strings.
My mind was consumed by the ritual, by the feel of the words on my lips and tongue, by the strange energy that seemed to be building in the air around me.
It made my skin tingle and my hairs stand on end, like I’d been walking around for hours with a balloon held against my head.
The air in the room grew thick and heavy with each breath I took, until it felt like I was trying to breathe through a wet sponge.
My heart was pounding so hard that I was sure it would burst from my chest at any moment—and then, suddenly, it stopped.
A rush of coldness swept over me, so intense that I felt like my blood had turned to ice in my veins.
I shivered violently, but not from the cold.
A voice whispered my name, low and sultry, right in my ear.
I tried to pull away, but a hand came up from behind me and clamped over my mouth.
The voice whispered my name again, this time from directly in front of me.
I tried to look up but couldn’t—my gaze was fixed on the floor in front of me.
Then I blinked, and suddenly there was a face in front of my own.
A beautiful face, with high cheekbones and dark red lips that were curved in a smile.
I opened my mouth to speak, but all that came out was a strangled gasp.
Her eyes were black as night, deeper than any pool I’d ever seen before, and they seemed to be staring straight into my soul.
I stumbled backwards and nearly fell over, but somehow I managed to keep myself on my feet.
Don’t be afraid,” she said.
Her voice was low and seductive, like a snake charmer trying to hypnotize her latest victim.
I shook my head again and took another step back, feeling the hard edge of the desk pressing into my lower back.
“I’m not going to hurt you,” she said, taking a step closer.
I could feel the heat radiating off her body, smell the sweet scent of her perfume.
It made me want to lean forward and bury my face in her neck, to inhale her intoxicating scent until it filled me up from the inside out.
But I didn’t move.
Instead, I stood there, rooted to the spot, as she continued to approach me, her hips swaying seductively with each step she took.
And then, just as I thought she was going to reach out for me, she turned on her heel and walked away.
I watched her go, unable to tear my eyes away from the hypnotic sway of her hips as she moved.
Then, suddenly, she stopped.
Without turning around, she called out two words over her shoulder.

She said them softly, almost as if she were talking to herself, but I heard them all the same.
Tears sprang into my eyes at the sound of them, but before I could stop myself, I found myself nodding.
Seduced by Shadows
“Yes,” I whispered hoarsely.
I kneeled in front of her, while she stood so close to me, I could almost smell the sweet and mesmerizing aroma from her body.

“Why have you summoned me?”
she asked softly.
Her voice was like silk and honey, and it sent shivers down my spine.
I looked up at her then and met her gaze.
Her eyes were still black as night, but there was something else in them now—something hungry and dangerous.
I opened my mouth to answer, but only a strangled gasp came out.
She smiled again and cocked her head to one side.
“It is not often that we are summoned by humans,” she said.
“After all, what use would such lowly beings have for the Queen of the Succubi?”
I tried to speak again, but my mouth was so dry that no sound came out.
She took another step forward and reached out to touch my face.
Her fingers were soft as they brushed against my skin, but there was something else there too—an electric charge that sent shivers of pleasure racing down my spine.
I gasped and leaned into her touch, craving more of the pleasure that came with it.
“Why have you summoned me?”
she asked again.
This time there was no amusement in her voice, only desire.
I blinked back tears and stared up at her beautiful face.
How could I explain this to her?
How could I tell her that I was so lonely that I would do anything to make it stop?
“I’m sorry,” I whispered.
“I’m so sorry.”
But she shook her head and smiled gently down at me.
Seduced by Shadows
“Do not apologize,” she said.
“You have done nothing wrong.”
She crouched down in front of me then and took both of my hands in hers.
“It is not your fault that you are lonely,” she whispered.
“It is not your fault that you crave the touch of another.”
And then she leaned forward and brushed her lips against mine.
Seduced by Shadows
It was just a ghost of a kiss, but it was enough to make my whole body ache with need.
My heart was pounding in my chest as I closed my eyes and whispered a silent prayer for forgiveness.
But then she kissed me again, and all thought fled from my mind.
“I will fill the void in your soul,” she murmured against my lips.
“I will give you pleasures beyond mortal understanding.”
Seduced by Shadows
I opened my mouth to reply.
But before I could speak, she silenced me with another kiss.
This one was deeper than the first, and it left me breathless and dizzy with desire.
I moaned softly and leaned into her touch as she wrapped her arms around me and pulled me closer.
“Please,” I whispered when she finally pulled away.
“Don’t stop now.”
She smiled down at me and brushed a stray lock of hair away from my face.
“Look at me,” she said.
Seduced by Shadows
I met her gaze once again and stared into the bottomless depths of those black eyes.
There was something strange about them now—they seemed to be glowing with an inner light—but I couldn’t look away.
I was rooted to the spot by the sheer force of her gaze.
I watched as the black of her pupils expanded until they filled the entire eye.
Seduced by Shadows
And then suddenly I was falling—falling deep down into the endless void of her gaze.
I saw myself reflected there on the surface of her eyes—my face contorted in pleasure and pain—and then I was lost to the darkness.
“You have summoned me,” she whispered against my lips.
“Be it for salvation or damnation, you will have what you desire.”
With those words, she released me and stepped back, breaking the spell that she had cast over me.
I blinked several times and looked around the room, trying to clear my head.
The whole thing seemed like some kind of strange dream, but the ache between my legs told me otherwise.
“Who are you?”
I asked, but she just smiled and shook her head.
“You know who I am,” she said.
“I am Lilith Nightshade, Queen of the Succubi, and you have summoned me here tonight at your own request.”
I stared at her, trying to make sense of what she was saying.
It all sounded so ridiculous—a creature like her would never come when called by someone like me.
But then I looked at her again and felt a shiver run down my spine.
She was stunningly beautiful, more so than any other woman I had ever seen before, with long black hair that fell in loose waves around her shoulders and pale skin that seemed to shimmer in the candlelight.
She was also terrifying, with eyes that were so dark and deep that they seemed almost otherworldly.
I had read about the Succubi in the ancient tome, how they were creatures of darkness who fed on the souls of men, but I hadn’t really believed any of it.
Now I wasn’t so sure.
“Are you going to kill me?”
I asked, and she laughed.
Her laughter was like music, sweet and melodious, but there was something dark and dangerous underneath it.
“Of course not,” she said.
“I am here to give you what you want.”
“But what do you want?”
I asked again, unable to tear my gaze away from her.
“Well, that depends on you,” she said.
“I could give you pleasures beyond mortal understanding, or I could drag you down into the depths of hell with me.
The choice is yours.”
She took a step closer and reached out a hand to touch my face.
I shivered at her touch and closed my eyes as a wave of pleasure washed over me.
She smelled like dark spices and warm summer nights, and I felt myself relax for the first time since I had performed the ritual.
There was something about her that made all of my troubles seem far away, and I found myself leaning into her embrace, craving more of that sweet release.
“The choice is yours,” she whispered against my lips.
“What will it be?”
But before I could answer, the room grew suddenly dim, and Lilith’s eyes began to glow with an otherworldly light.
She raised her arms above her head and began to chant in a strange language that I did not recognize, but which sent a shiver down my spine all the same.
The sound of her voice was hypnotic, and I found myself swaying to the rhythm of her words as they filled the room with their dark power.
Then, slowly, almost imperceptibly at first, she began to dance.
