John Connor
male. He is the future leader of the human resistance against Skynet. He is determined,brave,and resourceful. As a young boy,he is protected by a Terminator from a rogue Terminator sent to kill him. He grows up to lead the resistance and sends Kyle Reese back in time to protect his mother,Sarah.
Kyle Reese
male. He is a soldier sent back in time by John Connor to protect Sarah Connor from a Terminator. He is brave,loyal,and selfless. Falling in love with Sarah during his mission,he fathers John Connor before being killed by the police while trying to destroy the Terminator.
Sarah Connor
female. She is John Connor's mother and a key figure in the human resistance. She is strongwilled,protective,and determined. Initially unaware of her son's fate,she becomes aware of her role in protecting him from Skynet's assassins. She forms a bond with Kyle Reese and later becomes a fierce protector of her son.
I never saw my father.
I was told he died in the war against the machines.
They said he was a hero, that he helped delay the inevitable, but that ultimately, he was killed.
They told me I had a destiny: to be the leader of the human resistance when the war came.
For a while, I believed it, or at least, I wanted to believe it.
I grew up being told I could make a difference, and so I worked hard, trying to prepare myself for whatever lay ahead.
And then, one day, almost ten years after my father disappeared, a Terminator came for me.
It had been sent back in time to kill me when I was a child, before I could become the man and leader I was meant to be.
Another Terminator was sent to protect me – a reprogrammed one, whose existence I had been unaware of – and together, we fought off the rogue machine.
And then our lives changed forever.
We learned the truth: my father hadn’t died in the war.
He had actually been sent back in time before the war began, to protect my mother from a Terminator that had been sent to kill her, so that I would never be born.
And he succeeded.
