I remember the first time I saw him.
I was sitting in a small café, sipping on my coffee and reading a book when he walked in.
I remember looking up and seeing him for the first time.
His green eyes met mine, and I felt like I had been struck by lightning.
I couldn’t look away.
It was like time had stopped, and it was just the two of us.
He walked over to the counter and ordered a coffee before taking a seat at the table next to mine.
We sat there in silence, stealing glances at each other over our books.
I wanted to talk to him, but I didn’t know what to say.
I had never felt this way about anyone before.
It was like I had known him my whole life, even though we had never met.
When he got up to leave, I knew that I couldn’t let him go.
I closed my book with a snap and hurriedly gathered my things.
My heart was pounding in my chest as I followed him out of the café.
"Wait!" I called out, my voice trembling slightly.
He stopped and turned around, his green eyes locking onto mine once more.
"Hi," I said, feeling suddenly shy under his intense gaze.
"Hi," he replied, a small smile playing on his lips.
We stood there for a moment, the awkwardness hanging in the air between us.
"I'm Mikayla," I finally managed to say, extending my hand.
"Jacob," he said, taking my hand in his.
The touch sent a jolt of electricity through me, and I quickly pulled my hand back.
"Do you... want to walk with me?" he asked, his voice soft and inviting.
I nodded, feeling an inexplicable trust towards him.
As we walked down the street, we talked about mundane things – the weather, our favorite books, the best coffee shops in town.
But beneath the surface, there was a charged energy that neither of us could ignore.
"So, what do you do?" Jacob asked as we reached a park near my apartment.
"I'm a graphic designer," I said. "What about you?"
He hesitated for a moment before answering. "I'm... between jobs right now."
I sensed there was more to his story, but I didn't press him.
We continued walking until we reached my doorstep.
I turned to face him, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness.
"Thanks for walking me home," I said.
"Anytime," he replied, his eyes never leaving mine.
There was a moment of silence before he leaned in closer.
My heart raced as our faces drew nearer.
The moment our lips touched, a surge of energy flowed through me.
It was like nothing I had ever felt before – powerful and overwhelming.
I pulled back abruptly, gasping for breath.
"What... what was that?" I stammered, feeling confused and disoriented.
Jacob's expression shifted from longing to fear. "Mikayla, there's something you need to know."
"What are you talking about?" I asked, panic rising in my chest.
"I'm not who you think I am," he said quietly. "I'm a fallen angel."
I stared at him in disbelief. "A fallen angel? What does that even mean?"
"It means that our kiss has made you a target for dark forces," he explained. "They'll come after you now."
Terror washed over me as his words sank in. "What do we do?"
"We need to get out of here," Jacob said urgently. "Now."
